Need to clear out some space in your closets to make room for a new wardrobe? Ready for some Sisterhood of the Traveling Gender Justice Message Tee-esque magic, where clothing that shouldn’t really fit different body types… does, and we all end up rocking hot new reduce-recycle-reuse looks for free? Want to shop and nosh for free with your stylish media and activist friends? Join us for the clothing swap and potluck brunch.
Our last potluck swap was a giant success: fifty friends old and new traded clothes, found new favorites, ate, talked, laughed, and donated hundreds of dollars worth of extras to a great cause, Housing Works. Let’s make this swap bigger and better!
WHAT TO BRING:
— Clothes, shoes, accessories, purses, jewelry, tights, hats, or anything else you think folks would want. We’d especially like to encourage a wide range of sizes.
— Some sort of brunch food or drink to share (optional, but strongly encouraged)
— Friends who aren’t in WAM! — the more the merrier.
— Yourself (even if you don’t have clothes to swap, just bring something for the potluck).
— Spare tote bags to carry away your goods and pack up the remainder for Housing Works.
— If anyone has a portable air conditioner we could use for the day, let us know!
